Client The Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General
Over a period of seven years, we worked on a number of projects at Government House, Canberra, official residence of Australia’s Governor-General. Work began with a conservation management plan for the house and garden in conjunction with landscape architect Patrick & Wallace. This was followed by a strategic plan developed in association with Sweetnam Godfrey & Ord, and phased construction of new facilties.
Our work included the design of a new service wing that houses a kitchen, staff facilties and a cellar, and a major new gardening and maintenance complex. We also undertook refurbishment of the state reception rooms based on historic evidence, and the refurbishment of suites for visiting heads of state.
Incremental budgeting was made possible by our careful planning of the implementation program.
