A graduate of RMIT University, Suzanne initially went into private architectural practice. Her career in heritage began with a year at Heritage Victoria, then work in local and state government, and private heritage practice. Her combined experience in architecture and heritage has given her an in-depth understanding of the issues relating to ongoing use, and helps in the development of heritage management strategies.
A longstanding member of Lovell Chen’s multidisciplinary team, Suzanne is particularly experienced in negotiating outcomes for challenging large-scale projects, and working at a national level with the EPBC Act. She works with the regulatory systems in various states of Australia, in particular Victoria and the ACT.
In 2023 she completed the inaugural long-form Getty Conservation Institute International Course on the Conservation of Modern Heritage, covering all aspects of the subject. She is a current Advisory Board Member of ACAHUCH (Australian Centre for Architectural History, Urban and Cultural Heritage) at the University of Melbourne.
